Art in Ireland
Art in Ireland spans from the Neolithic carvings at Newgrange and Knowth (c. 3200 BCE) to today’s diverse public and contemporary art. Celtic metalwork and illuminated manuscripts evolved into medieval High Crosses and Gothic architecture. The 19th century brought Romanticism and nationalism, with George Petrie highlighting Irish identity. The Celtic Revival blended tradition with modernism. Throughout Ireland sculptures and art pieces can be seen preserving stories, ideas, and culture for generations to come.
The world is rich in diversity of culture. In the United States, there is a meeting of many cultures and the ones people came from can be forgotten over generations.
We strive to preserve Celtic heritage for Americans of Celtic descent so they may be connected to the threads of their past, present, and future.
