Module Overview

This educational module begins with the Ice Age, when glaciers shaped the rugged landscape, and follows the arrival of humans around 12,000 BC. Discover how Ireland evolved through waves of migration and invasions—from the mysterious Celts to the Vikings, Normans, and English—each leaving an indelible mark on the island’s culture and history. Culminating in Ireland’s fight for independence from England in the 20th century, this module provides a high level view of the forces that shaped the Ireland we know today.

The world is rich in diversity of culture.  In the United States, there is a meeting of many cultures and the ones people came from can be forgotten over generations.

We strive to preserve Celtic heritage for Americans of Celtic descent so they may be connected to the threads of their past, present, and future.
